News from Bryant Park Aikido, Richmond, Va.
Chief Instructor Tim Sheldon, 4th Dan, has added an
intermediate Aikido credit course at Randolph-Macon
College that will be in addition to the introductory
class that began last year.

An introductory Aikido class will be launched in
September at the J. Sargeant Reynolds Community
College Western Campus, instructed by Adrian Beard,
2nd Dan. Classes are already being taught by Sheldon
Sensei at the J.S. Reynolds Parham Rd. Campus and
Brian Hill, 2nd Dan, at the Downtown Campus.
Hill Sensei will be initiating a special Aikido
training program for troubled youth at the Virginia
Treatment Center in Richmond in the Fall.

Recent promotions include John Gentry to Shodan, David
Spangenthal to 1st Kyu, Jason Clements and David Beard
to 2nd Kyu, George Dickinson to 3rd Kyu, Daniel
Sharps, Jim Rowe and Libbie Gentry to 4th Kyu, and
Michael Whanger, Brenton Whanger and Magi Shapiro to
6th Kyu.

William Witt Shihan, 7th Dan, will be making his 10th
visit to Richmond for a two-day seminar Oct. 23-24.
